How to Use an Oil Cartridge Vaporizer

Behold the future of all herb lovers out there, the oil cartridge vaporizer! Yes, these vape pens are currently taking the market by storm. It is very efficient, discreet, handy and odorless. You can carry it anywhere you go, inside your pocket or your clutch bag. It does not draw that much attention since it is odorless and of course, it will appear that you are only smoking an electric cigar. You can easily grab it during an afternoon walk with your dog or if you just wanna sit around and share it with a friend. It is very easy to pack and prepare, once you are ready to use it, with just one hand, you can pull it from your pocket and it will do its magic.

Too good to be true? Here’s more, it will take about 3-4 ml of flowers to produce 1 ml of this hash oil (But it depends on what extraction process is used, the range is in general though). That is how concentrated a fully loaded oil cartridge can be. From your regular flower intake, think of it times 3-4 and how much are you taking in one day. With that simple computation, you can carry a day's worth of oil without thinking of running out and did I mention about it being pocket sized? I’m not just talking about your pen but including your extra oil, both can easily fit your pocket, securing you a session or two with a small group.

As innovative as it is, these Oil Cartridge Vapes are not that rocket science as it sounds. They are very easy to use and comes in two types: the Buttonless Vapes and the Push Button Vapes. We can easily visualize what made one different from the other but it’s not just the buttons we are talking about here. With buttons, we are referring to multiple personalized settings. You see the buttonless vaporizer heats only with one temperature, so it is very user-friendly and ideal for beginners. All you need to do is pull air from it and nothing else. The only thing is that since the heat is monotonous, other thicker oils may not cook to its maximal potency. Still despite this, there a those who would stick to using buttonless vapes because it's less hassle and fairly gives desirable hits. Most experienced users go with Push Button Vaporizers because they can easily explore different oils and varying temperature. Believe it or not, you can even pair some with your smartphones to manually update its heat.

Generally, vape pens have three parts. Those are (from top to bottom), the mouthpiece, the tank, and the battery. So if you want to fill in your vape with your oil, you can unscrew the mouthpiece from the top of the tank and fill it. You can see lines on it indicating the amount you are about to consume. The mouthpiece is where your vapor is being drawn from once your oil is ready. And of course, none of it will work if the battery is empty. To charge it, you can unscrew it from the bottom of the tank. It comes with a USB charger that you can insert on your laptop, wall adapter or even in your car. Just plug it and wait until the light indicator turns green.

Now, this is the most awaited part, how to use an oil cartridge vaporizer? Now that you know the parts of a vape pen, here are the ways on how to use it and some examples for each. There will also be bonus tips on how to prolong the life of your oil cartridge after it, so read until the very end.

Buttonless Vapes

Buttonless Vapes

  1. Your first draw from the mouthpiece signals the vape to heat up. Slowly pull air from it for about 3-4 seconds and blow it out. The THC has an immediate effect on our system in just seconds so make sure you do not hold it in for too long.

  2. Allow 1-2 minutes before taking in another hit. Just repeat the process until you are all good. (For first-timers, don’t be in rush. Allow this time interval or you will be all baked before you know it.)
Push Button Vapes

Push Button Vapes

  1. Pressing the button 5 times. This indicates the device to power on (and power off).
  2. Pressing the button 3 times. Allows you to move the temperature from 0V (red), 3V (green), and 6V (blue) the highest temperature. If you had initially set your desired temperature and wants to stick to that, no need to go through this step again. Still, you can always change it depending on how dense your oil is.
  3. Pressing the button 2 times. This is to preheat your vapes and it should be ready in just 10 seconds. Other vape pens have different button techniques from steps from 1-3, but these are the general rule most vapes are following.
  4. Take a deep draw for 3-4 seconds and breathe it out.
  5. Once you are done, you can turn the vape off using step 1. You don’t need to turn it off in between sessions unless you feel the pen getting too hot.

Aside from these 2 types of vape pens, you can also give Disposable Vaporizers a go. You got that right, if you are new to vaping concentrated oils and just wants to try it, you can also get One-time use Vapes. No need to assemble or charge it, just puff and puff until its completely empty and dispose of. It is also good for casual oil vape users.

Just like pipes and bongs, vape pens also need some cleaning and maintenance. You will not need much, just some rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip. Just rub it on the area that needs cleaning and let it dry. Never ever use soap and water even for the mouthpiece. Unlike some smartphones, vaporizers are not waterproof. So make sure to keep them in a dry and cool place or in a vape case if possible. This will surely prolong the life of your device. Do not forget to lock and seal it properly every time you dismantle it, for it may cause a leak from the tank affecting the battery and the pen mechanism. This here is your daily ticket to la-la land. Handle it with care!
